Khmer Girls In Action: Yellow Lounge Event
I checked out the Khmer Girls in Action 6th Annual Yellow Lounge event tonight. It was pretty great. Young Khmer female empowerment? YEAH

In her shoes: An exhibit put together by young Khmer girls talking about the “shoes” they wear in their communities.
In her self: An exhibit put together by young Khmer girls talking about what’s going on in their minds.

This one was pretty dope.
Caught a great sunset as I left.
This type of event made me glad there are nonprofits out there like Khmer Girls in Action. The topic of gang violence came up many times over the night, and it was good that there was an outlet for these girls, so affected by the issue, to go to and find ways to empower themselves.
Slavery Still Exists

Sex trafficking is more present than one would think. The nastiness is all over Koreatown for example.
A New Start (Again)
I grew tired of the tumblr blog. While the interface is great, I hate how everyone “reblog” each others posts. I’d end up seeing the same thing 4 times, with little to no additional input on what was reblogged. I’m all down for the spread of information, but without additional input, why don’t I just go to facebook or twitter?
I thirst to hear people’s thoughts. I want to read and to be challenged on what I write, and how I think
